manualRecommended school level (s): 1st-2nd School level
Manufacturing: Laminate the sheets (recommended film thickness: 90-125 microns). Cut out the cards individually. The master copies do not have to be laminated.
Pages or cards bound in a booklet: none
The parts “Signal Words” (pages 30-37 and 43) and “Questions” (pages 38-42) are intended as a preliminary exercise or in-depth study, but can also be used independently of “Computational Calculations in 7 Steps”. - For the sake of clarity, put them in separate boxes!
Content / curriculum reference: Introduction to non-technical calculation, recognizing signal words, asking correct questions, meaning-reading
Possible uses: Use in free work, in individual work or partner work.
Preparations: To work with this material, the children also need:
A work rug or a felt tray,
Various items: (chewing gum packs, Lego, glass bricks, dominoes, toy cars, ...)
How it works: A guide card is included with the material, showing steps 1-7. The examples can be written after each invoice - or after each "chapter". With the exception of the "Action", all steps are in the same order on the template.
Depending on the need, the additional material for working out the signal words or the material for finding the right questions can be used in advance or accompanying.
Self-control: There is a control card for each of the 24 examples.
There is also a control card for the signal words and the associated arithmetic characters.
Experiences, tips, tips: For the sake of clarity, I recommend sorting the 24 examples into 6 "chapters" beforehand. (The cards are marked with 1-6 points.)
Step 2 ("Action") should not be limited to the enclosed photo, but should be reproducible with real objects.
Of course, the children should draw their own sketches (step 3). The attached cards with the sketches were drawn by children in a 2nd class.
