To work with this material, the children require:
a mat, possibly the ‘Pink Tower’, the 'Short Bead Stair' chain, squares and cubes material, a pair of scissors, glue

How to Use:
The children can construct the cubes. The nets are folded along the black lines, and the grey areas are glued on.
Children can calculate the surface area and the volume of the finished cubes. They can compare these to the ‘Pink Tower’ and to the ‘Bead Tower’ of cubes from the chain display.

Control of Error:
The material enables the children to check their own progress as they work.
