a desk, lead and coloring pencils, a compass, a ruler, paper (for templates)

To draw a circle the children can use a pair of compasses, a complete circle of the metal fractions, or anything round such as a CD spindle. Ideally a compasses should be used - even children as young as 7 years can use them well after a little practice.
This material should be used together with other geometric material when possible.
