manual Recommended school level (s): 1st - 4th grade
Manufacturing: Laminate the sheets (recommended film thickness: 90-125 microns).
 Cut out the cards individually.
Pages not to be laminated: Sheet 14 (template)
Pages or cards bound in a booklet: none
Content / curriculum reference: The material "Comparative Adjectives" contains adjective pairs that on the one hand are opposites (wide / narrow, long / short, large / small, thick / thin, high / low, full / empty, new / old, pointed / blunt, light / difficult ) and on the other hand compared (thicker than, thinner than, as thick as, as thin as, ...).
One focus is on the correct use of the words "how" and "as".
Possible uses: Possible use in the context of: first reading, development of the parts of speech, grammar, optical differentiation, ...
Use in free work, in individual work or partner work.
Preparations: To work with this material, the children also need:
A work carpet or a felt tray, stationery (for the worksheet)
How it works: You can work on 3 levels:
 1) Terms - The individual pictures are named and put in pairs
(old car / new car). The word cards (old / new) are assigned. With the (three available) single picture cards you can edit when something is the same and when something is different (cards: "same", "same", "different")
 2) Comparisons - The word cards (as old as / as new as / older than / newer than) are assigned to the pair cards.
 3) Keywords - At this level, the focus is on the words “how” and “as”. If "equal" is used "like", if "not equal" "as" is used. The cards with the whole sets are now assigned to the pair cards. As a specialization, the keywords “like” and “as” are created separately.
Self-control: The material itself controls itself.
Experiences, tips, tips: For the sake of clarity, two boxes should be used: one for the single picture cards and word cards (level 1) and one for the pair cards, word groups and sentence cards (levels 2 and 3).
The cards have a dark blue border. Reason: The symbol color for adjectives is assumed to be blue. This also results in the article name "Adjectives blue".
