Content / curriculum reference:  This laying material offers an entry into the fascinating world of track and trace searches. The information cards in particular provide basic information about traces, tracks and runs using a few examples of native animals. The children also get to know the animals themselves and can subsequently create profiles. 
 The information cards encourage further research and research. 
Possible uses:  Use in free work, in individual work or in partner work. Also suitable for presentations, presentations or to get started on the topic. 
Preparations:  To work with this material, the children also need: 
 A large (round) carpet, books on the subject, Ev. Internet (Wikipedia) for research. 
How it works:  The laying cards are laid out as a circular area. Laying begins in the middle with the 12 animals, continues with the graphics of the tracks, the photo of the corresponding animal and its name. The back of these cards are printed with traces and information. There is an A5 index card for each animal with some additional information. Texts and a glossary on 5 additional A5 index cards complete the topic. Of course, non-fiction and identification books are indispensable, some of which I have listed. The “Active Box” in particular offers many ideas for researching and experimenting with animal tracks. 
 The copy templates offer the possibility to write profiles. The animals, footsteps and traces can be drawn in or glued there. A few lines for short texts are also provided. 
Self-control:  The self-control results from the laying work. Small silhouettes of the animals help.
