Brief descriptionThe material is intended for sound training. For each sound there is an A4 card with ten pictures. Under the pictures three holes are punched for on and off sound. Markings for self-control are placed on the back.
scopeThe material consists of 22 A4 cards and a word list. The letters C, Q, V, X, Y do not appear here because they are not assigned a clear or pure sound. (Loud training with Z - "ts" - is actually not possible for the same reason. If you want to work correctly, you should leave out this sheet.)
manualRecommended school level (s): 1st - 2nd grade
Manufacturing: Laminate all sheets (recommended film thickness: 90-125 microns)
Punch out the holes with a punch. Please note that the holes are not too big. The plugs should get stuck when turning the card! The corresponding (correct) holes are marked on the back with amplifier rings.
To make the stopper card more stable and to improve the hold of the stopper, I laminated a second sheet (160g) with my copy. So that the two sheets stay together, I didn't cut off the laminating edges this time!
Another solution: Prüfl offers a plexiglass frame that guarantees a better hold of the plugs.
Pages not to be laminated: Word list
Pages or cards bound in a booklet: none
Content / curriculum reference: Sound training, concept formation, spelling
Possible uses: Use in freelance work, in individual work or partner work, in letter development or on letter days
Preparations: To work with this material, the children also need: plastic or wooden plugs
How it works: The children speak the word to the picture, locate the sound (beginning - middle - end) and insert the plug into the corresponding hole
Self-control: The right solutions are marked on the back with amplifier rings. The children can see whether they have inserted the plugs into the correct holes
Experiences, tips, tips: Children who are obviously overwhelmed with this type of sound localization must first of all need other sound training material: eg a dressing table with objects (or pictures) with clearly differentiated sounds.
With the sound training clip cards (www.ws-montessori.at - Art.No. 131085) there is an intermediate stage from the sound cabinet to the sound training stopper cards
