Preparation of word structure, reading and writing
Kindergarten from 3 years
After a variety of language games in which the child identifies sounds in our language, the educator selects a sandpaper letter and moves the index and middle finger several times over the letter and the child as well. Then the teacher speaks the letter, the child speaks the sound and the teacher names a few words that begin with that sound. The procedure continues with a 2nd and 3rd letter, which differ greatly in sound and form. The second and third stages of the three-stage lessons follow.
Second stage / further exercises:
- the child feels familiar letters with closed eyes, words with the initial sound are searched for
- the child brings the sandpaper letter to a child whose name contains the sound or to an object in the room
- Small objects are sorted according to initial, inlaid and final sound
- Child chooses a letter and calls all children whose names begin with this sound
- Words of animals etc. are searched for, starting with "A", for example
Third stage: The educator asks the child for the name of the letter.
