Manufacturing: Laminate all sheets (recommended film thickness: 90-125 microns). Cut out the cards individually.
The items must first be "collected". Text cards (narrow) are included with the material as suggestions. These are the things that I have put together with children (and their parents) for my own reading boxes. The blank cards also included can be labeled yourself.
Pages not to be laminated: none
Pages or cards bound in a booklet: none
Content / curriculum reference: First reading material
Possible uses: Use in free work, as individual work, as partner work
Preparations: To work with this material, the children also need:
A work carpet or a felt tray, possibly writing things and paper (booklet)
How it works: The way of working with this first reading material depends on the reading ability and the level of development of the children. At first only the pink boxes with the objects can be offered, then the blue boxes with the objects, or also the pink boxes with the pictures and texts etc .... In any case, the word lists represent the highest level of abstraction and are therefore only used when the child has worked sufficiently with the objects and pictures. Of course, the reading boxes can also be used in conjunction with booklets.
Experiences, tips, tips: Further materials from this environment at ws-montessori: "First reading - only pictures", writing compartments, reading syllables, phonograms
Presentation material: 13 (5 pink, 8 blue) large boxes for the objects and the word cards - LxWxH: 15x15x10 (possibly middle bar),
13 (5 pink, 8 blue) small boxes for picture and word cards - LxWxH: 7x7x3,
