Age 4-5, 12-13
Brief description In triangle play, the child discovers the function of the adjective. The material is also used as a geometry material.
scope Consists of a total of 63 triangles: seven different types of triangles, in three sizes and in the colors blue, red and yellow
manual Recommended school level (s): 3rd - 6th grade
Manufacturing: Laminate the sheets (recommended film thickness: 90-125 microns).
Cut out the cards and triangles individually.
Appropriate slots must be made in the sliding card (with a Stanley knife) to thread the 4 sliding strips there (see photo on sheet 2).
The solution codes must be attached to the back of the triangles and the 8 order cards with a waterproof pen (see photo on sheet 2).
The 4 templates do not need to be laminated.
Pages or cards bound in a booklet: none
Content / curriculum reference: In triangle play, the child discovers the function of the adjective.
The material is also used as a geometry material.
Possible uses: Possible use in the context of: elaboration of part of speech, matrix work, geometry
Use in free work, in individual work, partner work or group work
Preparations: To work with this material, the children also need:
A large work carpet, a table, the Montessori material "triangle game" (but you can also use the copy templates instead), glue, scissors, stationery
How it works: The children can use the large word cards ("Size", "Color", "Angle", "Pages") for a wide variety of matrix work (see photo on sheet 2).
The 8 “Find” cards offer another way of working.
A specific triangle can be defined on the sliding map based on its properties. This is then searched for, traced or cut out. A booklet with title page, triangles and definitions can be created for documentation.
Self-control: Each triangle has a unique four-digit code on the sliding card. If this is also noted on the back of the triangles and the back of the order cards, there is a wonderful possibility of checking.
Experiences, tips, tips: The 3 templates with the triangles are to be copied onto colored copy cardboard for each child. (1x red, 1x yellow, 1x blue ... a total of 9 sheets)
The adjectives on the sliding card are dark blue, the articles light blue. Reason: The symbol color for adjectives is assumed to be blue. This also results in the article name "Adjectives blue".
