Article description
In the children's house, children learn letters. They then combine letters into phonetically accurate words. They read aloud letter by letter. Fluent reading occurs when groups of letters – syllables – are recognized and read. The reading box incorporates the syllable concept. Words are formed from 180 syllables. Each 20 two-syllable, three-syllable, and four-syllable words are visualized. In the first step, the picture cards are examined, the images are 'read'. The respective syllables are read, connected into words, and assigned to the images. A control is noted on the back of the picture cards.
