The reading booklets are aimed at beginner readers and provide a good supplement to the reading boxes. Each booklet consists of 20 pages with ten phonetically accurate words. As with the reading boxes, the level of difficulty also increases here: first, there are words with three letters, then with four, and so on. The words are printed in large font in red and blue. The consonants and vowels are color-coded as with the Montessori sandpaper letters. Each page contains only one word, and the back has a picture page that offers the reader a way to check the read word. This allows the child to read independently.
