The child is entitled to respect and support from society. This is expressed, among other things, in the “children's rights” as formulated by the United Nations in the children's rights convention that came into force in 1990. Montessori's commitment to the child and his rights is of great importance for the preparation and understanding of children's rights, raising public awareness and their political implementation.
