The first in the series of the four Montessori mobiles, the Munari Mobile, is usually offered from birth to the second month. The contrasting black-and-white colors are best seen by infants with newly developed vision. This two-dimensional mobile gives the developing eyes of the newborn something to focus on, and the different levels of shapes aid their visual development as they focus from one object to another.
