Please note:
Montessori materials are NOT toys, but educational materials. Proper use requires appropriate training.
Montessori materials may contain small, rough, sharp, or other elements that could cause injury or damage if used improperly.
It may therefore only be used by children under the supervision of appropriately trained persons and in an appropriate environment.
Continent Box Animals is a high-quality Montessori learning material, with which children can independently discover and categorize the animal world of the continents. The material supports the Cosmic Education
and enables a holistic engagement with animals, continents, and geographical connections. For each of the seven continents three typical animals were selected. The animal images are depicted on sturdy wooden boards and are included in two didactically coordinated versions.
In the first version, the child works with image cards without labels and matches the loose name cards made of wood
to them. In the second version, image and name are combined, so that the child can independently check their work. This supports the autonomous learning and the self-control, central principles of Montessori education.
Additionally, the set includes 21 realistic animal figures made of high-quality plastic (three animals per continent). Working with three-dimensional material promotes the accurate observation, the understanding of concepts and the sustainable acquisition of knowledge.
All components are clearly arranged in a stable storage box made of beech wood stored. The wooden boards and name tags are kept in transparent plastic boxes with lids which each have their own compartment in the wooden box.
The inside of the lid serves as an integrated self-control: The animals are marked there color-coded by continent. The color scheme corresponds to the colors of Globe continents and puzzle map continents (sold separately) and allows for easy combination of the materials.
A perfect complement to this material are the felt continents, on which the figures and wooden boards can be assigned.
