As an introduction, Montessori's story about measuring is suitable ('The ell is not just a bone'). Various exercises with measuring instruments form the basis for working with length measurements. Then it is important to apply the experiences. The training card 'Length Measurements 1' includes the definitions of the units of measurement and the name cards. The definitions and name cards are paired and labeled with the abbreviations of the length measurements. It makes sense to assign threads or similar items in the corresponding length. Conversion tables assist in further processing of the task cards. Lengths are compared, added, subtracted, doubled, and halved. The tasks always refer to only one unit of measurement.
