The children take a card and peg according to the instructions. This creates a pattern. It can also be worked in reverse: The children invent a pattern with the pegboard or on the copy template and then write down the corresponding 'recipe.'
Control cards can be made by oneself, on one side the numbers and corresponding colors are defined based on a grid and marked on the back for verification with colored dots. Children can also draw their own patterns and name the numbers to a partner child.

Self-check:
The set patterns are checked with the backs or with the numbers of the index cards.
In addition, the pegboard is also used for squaring and extracting roots analogous to the root board.
