Please note:
Montessori materials are NOT toys, but educational materials. Proper use requires appropriate training.
Montessori materials may contain small, rough, sharp, or other elements that could cause injury or damage if used improperly.
It may therefore only be used by children under the supervision of appropriately trained persons and in an appropriate environment.
Don't be afraid of digital media
Digital media are part of everyday life for children, even if their use is controversial. This collection of materials shows that daycare centers do not have to be technically upgraded or software experts to teach children how to use the media in a meaningful way: Through equal, versatile access to digital media and their creative use, children learn that media is more than just playing and Tool, but are information, expression and design tools.
The individual chapters are devoted to the different forms of expression that the examination of digital and analog media in the daycare can take, such as reading & telling, painting & designing, playing & learning, seeing & taking pictures, seeing & turning etc., but also explaining what it depends on the team and how the parents can be involved. Each chapter begins with a short introduction to the topic and formulates the learning objectives - followed by 10 practical impulses in the form of conversations, games, projects, creative tasks with a photo or camera. This is how you teach children how to use the media in a meaningful, critical and self-determined way.
A special service is the reference to the education and orientation plans of the federal states. Experts can find out here what impulses you use to comply with their recommendations for media education!
