Montessori materials are NOT toys, but educational materials. Proper use requires appropriate training.
Montessori materials may contain small, rough, sharp, or other elements that could cause injury or damage if used improperly.
It may therefore only be used by children under the supervision of appropriately trained persons and in an appropriate environment.
The child discovers different lengths with this material and thus the perception of length differences with the same shape is developed. The children develop their motor skills, the coordination of the movement, the formation of order structures. The material is a preparation for working with the numerical poles. A very important aspect is “making the same length” and estimating lengths. The children notice the difference between long and short. The material consists of ten red poles made of solid wood. The shortest rod is 10 cm long and each further one is 10 cm longer. The longest bar is 100 cm long.
