 The small part of speech part only contains the part of speech: noun, verb, adjective, article

The part of speech symbol figures serve to understand the properties of the part of speech. In the spirit of Montessori, the property of the part of speech can be conveyed first and only then the name. 
 An example: "This is the big red ball. It can roll and move. The big red ball stands for all words that describe a movement, such as: walk, run, ..." 
 The word name is then introduced later, in this case: "The big red ball is the verb." 
 - Red ball = verb (activity word) 
 - Black pyramid = noun (name word) 
 - Small blue pyramid = article (companion) 
 - Brown pyramid = adjective (adjective)
